Black Pepper, A hope for vitiligo patients

A team of medical scientist from the Kings College London, has recently revealed the results of a study on mice, which is shown that piperine present in the extract of black pepper (and its synthetic derivatives) can stimulate pigmentation in the skin. The team leader also claims who have demonstrated the same effect in the skin of people with vitiligo.

The effect of piperine was found to be significant to enhance when combined with ultraviolet photo therapy as in PUVA. The team of scientists is very optimistic about the discovery and they believe it to be a revolutionary finding which may change the scientific scene for vitiligo.

This study is soon to be published in the British Journal of Dermatology.
